Aims for my music magazine:


For my music magazine I am hoping to have a Jazz theme throughout and will contain a front cover, contents page and a double page spread. I have decided to do base my magazine on jazz music because I think it will look sophisticated and urban. Hopefully I will be able to take some photos of some brass instruments such as a saxophone, trumpet, microphone and a drum kit. 

When editing my photos I will try to include a smokey effect to enhance my theme of jazz, I believe this will ensure my magazine has a house style and will make it look unique. This theme will attract readers of any age with a certain level of sophistication. 

 I am wanting my final draft of my music magazine to include different features that I will have learnt since producing my school magazine front cover.

Original photography I decided not to use this photo because I found his facial expression too serious and didn't fit the style that I wanted my magazine to have.  I liked this shot because it focuses specifically on the instrument itself, however because my article was all about the artist, it didn't feel right to not include his face within the double page spread. This was the photo I eventually decided to use for my double page spread, it needed some editing, especially within the background but it shows the artist looking much more relaxed with his instrument which is the look I was hoping for.  I used this image on my contents page because it is not too eye-catching that it takes the main focus away from the text but relates well to the content of the text and the magazine itself.
